Christy O’Connor Jr. designed the golf course out in Glasson, and most would agree that the course is one of the best in Athlone. Shane Lowry is a member of Esker Hills golf club in county Offaly. Lowry is a native of Offaly, so this course acts as the talented golfer’s home base. Shane Lowry’s 2009 triumph in the Irish Open was nothing short of extraordinary and still holds a special place in our hearts today.
