Watsu At The Spa At Hodson Bay Hotel
Athlone’s Hodson Bay Hotel is a great example of how spas in Ireland supercede expectations in all parts of the country. The first to offer Watsu (from ‘water’ to ‘shiatsu’) treatments in Ireland, the judges found themselves dazzled by the unique offering. Carried out in an intimate pool, the spa-goer and therapist get into the water together, with weights applied to the arms and neck. The therapist then performs a shiatsu massage in what is described as ‘an incredibly relaxing’ treatment. Although based on ancient healing and calming practises, certainly in Ireland, this is a truly innovation treatment and it is executed at the Spa at Hodson Bay to perfection. A must-try for those in need of de-stressing and new experiences.
